Mark Porter is a British publication designer and art director, and former creative director of The Guardian.

Formerly he was the art director of the Evening Standard, the UK edition of Wired, and Colors. He directed the redesign of The Guardian, which was voted best-designed newspaper in the world by the Society for News Design in 2006 and received wide-spread acclaim.

During his 14 years as Creative Director, he was the recipient of D&AD Yellow and Black Pencils, SPD Gold Awards, and received an award for the clarity and readability of his design work from the Plain English Campaign.

He also led the successful project of adapting the newspaper and magazine contents to new platforms, including the iPad and other tablets.

His company Mark Porter Associates has recently carried out redesign projects for Publico (Portugal), Internazionale (Italy) and designed the Guardian iPad app (also judged one of the World’s Best news apps by the Society for News Design).
